*treesofmachinery has been after my life to upload a new photo for months and I've just been too pre-occupied (lazy?).

well, it was probably about time I uploaded something anyway. Seems like a good opportunity to give this new upload system a try as well.

Very often I'll take a photo, or plan a photo, and the initial results will be satisfactory. I'll look at the photo in the camera, and I'll be more or less content with the results. As soon as I look at the photo on my computer however, I realize what a piece of shit it was, and it will join the gigabytes of photos languishing on my various hard drives. This is one of the few cases where I took the photo, was satisfied with what I saw in the tiny camera screen... and then looked at the photo on the computer and was still satisfied. There were of course a few issues here and there... but I could deal with them.
What's interesting though, is that usually when I feel this way about a photo, not too many other's agree with me... at least so say the usual indicators of agreement/popularity on deviantART... meh.


Anyway, post work:
no cropping.
adjusted the contrast and brightness slightly
removed some distracting elements from the background.
Nikon D70 with the 18-70 kits lens with a SB-800 flash and a Lumiquest pocket bouncer

The photo might appear a little dark... but I think that's a monitor issue.
