Too much black? I'd crop out half of the hills (or at least a third) to lengthen the shot into more or a rectangle.

Great composition here on this shot. And it is just very striking to see the sun so close up at that focal length.

Excellent work!

one thing I would say though (not strictly related to the image) the jpg quality seems low and i see some blocking in the sky.

thanks so much for the comment.

yes, you're absolutely right regarding the jpg quality... the uploaded image has been re-sized at a subpart quality level. I think this may be something like 4 or 5 on PSCS3. It was done more as deterrent to someone just ripping the photo, but I see it can be annoying as a viewer as well.

The print I submitted is much larger and of quality level 12.

Yea, it doesnt detract from the image at all, just wasnt sure if it was done by accident, either way, still love the image.

If you want to see a few more Indians around here check out ~indians, the club has been pretty inactive for a while, but the members list should have some active folk on it... you might even bump into someone in Nagpur. :)

What a challenging scene. I love how the sun shines through the trees on top of the hill. If you look at that cloud above the sun just right, it sorta looks like an eagle soaring right over the sun and straight at you. Neat shot. :)

It looks like the body of a woman lying..., don't you think so?
the sun rising over her body...
I say a woman, but it could be a man too ;)

Beautiful. I love the curve of the land, like a spine maybe. The Sun looks amazing and almost looks like a flat disc. I like details in the clouds and trees very much.

Thanks very much...
I actually have a number of shots like this from sunrise and sunset, but this was my favorite of the lot precisely because of the clouds... felt like it gave the photo a little more... dimension perhaps.

The clouds add an extra layer I guess.
