Nights at the airport

OK, so I went out this night to pick some people up from the airport at about 9:45PM, only to learn that their flight was delayed and they were going to now show up at 1:50AM. So I decided to kill my time by driving around and photographing the lightning that was a sign of the second night of the 'monsoons' in Tucson. I was heading up to the mountains close by to find a dark area, when I discovered that I had taken a wrong turn close to the airport. This wrong turn took me on a dark and relatively unused road with the outer bounds of the dark airport-land on one side and some even darker ranch-land on the other. The lightning was firing off like crazy above and near the airport itself... which I was a good few miles away from. Anyway, I spent a long time taking pictures of the lightning and part way through I happened to just like the way I could barely make out the fact that there were clouds in the sky just behind me. So I climbed down from the roof of my car with my tripod and pointed the camera up at the sky, with the tree in towards the lower right of the frame for some sort of reference (it was really dark and I could barely see what my frame looked like).
I thought that since it was sooo dark, I may as well keep the 30 sec shutter I had been using to get the lightning. Barely 10 seconds after I clicked the shutter release this car drives by... and I thought all was lost... but no... this is what came out... I like the result so much I tried it again a few times... but I guess I really like the first shot the most.
I cant quite explain why I like this image... I just know that some how it appeals to me. I guess the previous paragraph was written in the hopes that I might be able to understand whether my fondness for this image is related to the event... but I dont think so.
I dont really expect this to appeal to too many others... meh.

Oh, and again, this is straight from the camera... no editing besides the frame.
